#WaterFrontHack Global Online Hackathon

June 18, 2020 /

Within the scope of our H2020 CUTLER project, there is an upcoming Hackathon to address the challenges of sustainable development in coastal urban areas.

Organised within the scope of the H2020 CUTLER project, the #WaterFrontHack Global Online Hackathon is an opportunity for developers, policy and domain experts around the world to come together and address the challenges of sustainable development in coastal urban areas.

CUTLER’s main objective is to shift the existing paradigm of policy making, which is largely based on intuition, towards an evidence-driven approach enabled by big data. Focusing on cities with waterfront areas, our aim is to exploit the wealth of data generated by and in the cities on a daily basis (by the public administration, public or private organizations, and citizens) in order to develop an innovative platform that will help policy makers to easily design, implement, and monitor urban development policies in these cities.

The hackathon welcomes local, national and regional software solutions that will help improve data analysis and visualization for decision and policy-making in coastal urban areas that will help foster urban resilience.
