This year’s Platform for Advanced Scientific Computing (PASC) Conference in Basel was a great place to exchange scientific ideas. The motto “Computing and Data … for all Humankind” led to an interesting selection of topics across social sciences, epidemiology, plasma physics and climate simulations, and a lot more. Over 50 posters were presented and discussed very openly – everyone was very engaged and eager to learn after a long break of online-only conferences. We were happy to see that some of our research, presented by PhD student Theresa Pollinger, was selected for best poster award. Her work on “Scaling the Plasma Simulation while Conserving the Mass” won the vote, along with posters by Martin Karp (KTH Stockholm) and Stefan Strub (ETH Zürich). She is currently looking for students interested in High Performance Computing (C++) and numerical algorithms for simulations, in order to further pursue this research.
