Miriam Binner from technology portal Golem.de interviewed Prof. Staab. Her article points to examples of AI-based racism. The AI Now institute calls for more diversity in AI Development teams. Prof. Staab supports this call, but adds that we also need more diversity in the teams that develop software. Staab is principal investigator in the EU project NoBias and he collaborates with social scientists and lawyers in order to recognize and prevent discrimination through Artificial Intelligence.
