Silvia Genovese visiting from the Center for Music in the Brain (Aarhus University) and working primarily in neuroscience and psychology. For her PhD project, she is investigating and modelling the influence of demographic variables, music preferences and habits, and psychological factors on the choice of music for sleep.
Ali Saberi visiting from the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour (Radboud University) and working primarily in data science and machine learning. For his PhD project, he is establishing a robust framework for organising and analysing sleep data, by integrating neurophysiological sleep recordings (such as EEG) with diverse non-physiological data (such as music datasets and annotations).
Both Silvia and Ali will be involved in several collaborations with our own researcher including data-driven analysis of large psychological/neuroscientific datasets, development of new research software and co-supervising student projects. We are pleased to welcome them to the University of Stuttgart, and look forward to working with them further over the coming months!
