Brief Description
The Network Emulation Testbed (NET) provides a powerful, flexible infrastructure for the comparative performance analysis of distributed applications and protocols.

It basically consists of a 64-node cluster system, connected by a flexible networking infrastructure. Each of the cluster nodes is able to represent one or more (e.g. internet) nodes, running existing or experimental protocols and applications. The network infrastructure can be set up in arbitrary ways, emulating anything from Wide Area Networks (WANs) to highly dynamic Mobile AdHoc Networks (MANETs).

Thus, NET makes up a valuable tool for research, engineering, and educational purposes. Currently, most users of NET are researchers at Distributed Systems department at the University of Stuttgart, accompanied by students testing their protocol implementations during the "computer communications" lab course, which is offered each term. We would explicitly like to invite researchers from other research institutes to contact us if they also want to use NET for their measurements.
